Narrative: Early intelligence reports that forces from Nighon and Eeofol have barricaded themselves inside the Steadwick Valley. With all land access blocked, they must be receiving supplies through underground tunnels. You will either need to find the passage they are using to enter the valley or find a way over the mountains. The good news is that we have the assistance of Bracada, and if we can reach them, AvLee aswell. There is little else to say. We do not stop until Steadwick is liberated.

Scenario Description: To win, you must capture the city of Steadwick. Seek out the Seer - completing the Seer's quest will allow you to carry the reward to the next scenario.

Suggested Solution:

A. Starting bonus - Titans

B. Approach - fast exploration is the key, beating the cpu to all the goodies will make a big difference

C. Strategy - buy a good hero from your Tower, take the two Titans (you won't need any other troops), and go straight north through the Garrison, collecting artifacts, resources, and mines along the way. Hire another hero to tend your Tower and start exploring your surroundings. The Lookout Tower building is very useful for this purpose. Build up both your towns at an equal pace, with an emphasis on economy. Meanwhile, your north-bound hero will eventually reach a Castle town in the top left corner of the map. By now you should also have gotten the message concerning General Kendal's whereabouts. In fact, the prison where he's being held captive is right next to that town. The prison itself is guarded by Devils, though, so you may not be able to free the general just yet. However, you can build up your new town quickly enough to attempt that in a week or two. The map is the same as the Fall of Steadwick one with a couple of notable exceptions: 1. all land access to Steadwick is cut off so you'll need to reach it via underground tunnels 2. those underground tunnels are full of enemy Dungeons. Watch the south-east front very closely as that's where most enemy incursions will be coming from. After you free the general, take the Ladybird of Luck back to the seer to receive the Badge of Courage. Don't lose the badge, you'll need it in the next scenario. From here on it's a matter of collecting enough Arch Angels and Titans to storm Steadwick. You'll need about 15 of each and some support troops like Naga Queens, Champions, Arch Magi, Zealots, and Genies. The entrance to the city is heavily guarded so send your best hero to do the job. Make sure you leave a capable hero behind to guard your bases just in case the computer tries something funny. There are two Subterranean Gates that will give you access to the underground. One is to the east of your original Castle and is guarded by a few Black Dragons. The other is in the north-east part of the board. Whichever one you choose, make your way west through the tunnels. Don't bother chasing enemy heroes or going out of your way to capture a town. Once Steadwick falls the scenario is over.

* Note about Border Guards: in this campaign you have a choice of scenario order of completion (i.e. you may decide to play either Deal with the Devil or Neutral Affairs as your second scenario). Depending on your choice, you may collect different prizes in the final scenario of the campaign. If you did Deal with the Devil first, the blue Border Guard will be passable in that scenario, the red one will be available to you during Neutral Affairs, and you will collect the Sentinel's Shield (+12 d, -3 a) in the final scenario. If you did Neutral Affairs first, reverse the Border Guard availability issue and collect the Thunder Helmet (+10 k, -2 p) at the end. Regardless of what path you follow, make sure the same hero carries both quest artifacts when you complete each scenario.
