Narrative: Our spies tell us that the tomb of King Gryphonheart is located in the town of Stonecastle, near Erathia's northern border, in a place that was clear of the war with Nighon and Eeofol. Seek this place out and capture it so that we may animate the body of the King. You must also seek out the Spirit of Oppression and bring it to Stonecastle, as it is one of the items we need for the ritual to animate the King's body. But you must act quickly - the body will be of no use to us if its spirit departs.

Suggested Solution:

A. Starting bonus - black knight

B. Approach - build up your town fast and explore everywhere

C. Strategy - your main concern is running out of time. Upgrading to Liches as soon as possible is a must. You won't need to upgrade any of the dwellings (except, may be, for the Vampires) as sheer numbers will do the trick. While your town grows you should be out exploring the map as far as you can go even on day one. The Black Knight, which you received as a starting bonus, will help you accomplish that. There are a couple of creature dwellings south of your town. You can use them to boost your starting army. The Seer's Hut near by will ask you for the Pendant of Dispassion. Next, make your way through the garrison (all of them contain 10 Pikemen and 10 Archers) and then west. Don't bother with the Subterranean Gate you run across in the north-west corner of the map. It is more or less irrelevant and will only slow down your progress at this point. Take out the other garrison, instead, and proceed south to another Seer. That one will request the Pendant of Total Recall. Keep following the road south, then go through the Subterranean Gate you find at the end of it. Fight your way west until you reach an Ore Pit, which marks the center of a crossroad. The southern tunnel will lead you to the Pendant of Total Recall. The other tunnels contain prizes which are not essential to your quest. After you claim the pendant, trace your steps back to the Seer who requested it. He will give you the Hourglass of the Evil Hour as a reward. At this point you should head back to your town for reinforcements. The shorter route home will take you through the underground once again via the gate you ignored not so while ago. You'll have to confront some Marksmen for the right of passage. If you decide to take this route, follow the tunnel east until you reach another gate, but don't go through it just yet. Head south of it, instead, and visit the third Seer. He'll take your Hourglass and give you the Pendant of Dispassion in return. Take that to the Seer's Hut near your town to claim the Spirit of Oppression then bring your prize to the city of Stonecastle. The computer is weak and will not stand in your way for long.

*A note about Border Guards: there are two ways to progress through this campaign and what way you choose will affect what Border Guards will be accessible the rest of the way. Here's a summary of your two options - play the scenario Season of Harvest first and the Blue Border Guard will be accessible to you. The Red Border Guard will let you pass in the following scenario and the Brown Border Guard will be avalable to you in the last scenario of the campaign, where you'll collect the Titan's Gladius, 5 Bone Dragons, and a Dragon Vault dwelling as a reward. If you choose to play the scenario Corporeal Punishment first, the Blue Border Guard in that scenario will be accessible to you. The Green Border Guard in the following scenario will let you pass and the Blue Border Guard will be yours in the final scenario, letting you collect the Titan's Cuirass, 5 Bone Dragons, and a Cartographer as a prize.
