Narrative: To truly catch Erathia by surprise, we must attack within 3 months. However, our forces are not nearly strong enough for a full scale attack. We need you to harvest the creatures along the Erathian border, raising enough undead to allow us to launch our campaign. As before, you must move quickly. We must have the element of surprise when we attack Erathia, so we can not delay more than three months. In that time you must supply us with at least 2500 skeletons. If you fail, we will have no chance against Erathia. Do Not Fail.

Size: Medium
Difficulty: Normal
Number of Players: 3
Your Color: Purple
Starting Town: Necropolis
Alliances: Red/Blue
Win Conditions: Accumulate 2,500 skeletons.
Lose Conditions: Time Expires (3 months).
Special Rules: If you acquired the Spirit of Opression or the Pendent of Death from "A Gryphon's Heart", the one you acquired follows you to this one. If you find the Collar of Conjuring or the Spyglass, the one you find follows you to "Corporeal Punishment."
Scenario Description: To win, you must have a total of 2,500 skeletons in all of your armies within three months. Some border guards can be passed only if a hero carries a quest artifact from "A Gryphon's Heart", but the artifact beyond the border guards will travel with you to "Corporeal Punishment."

Suggested Solution:

A. Starting bonus - Vampire's Cowl

B. Approach - plan on crossing the river in the beginning of week 2 and seek out the Border Guards

C. Strategy - because of the Vampire's Cowl and the Necromancy Amplifier you'll soon build, your Necromancy skill should be at a premium right from the start. Flag all mines in the vicinity and kill everything you encounter on your little island as a start. Flag the Cursed Temple and Tomb of Souls dwellings and make sure you visit them every week using your spare hero. Use your conventional build order for the town, but do not upgrade your Wights, Black Knights, Liches, or Dragons (you'll see why a bit later). On the first day of week 2 take all the troops you can afford and load Vokial into the free boat on your shore. Land in the spot directly across the river then head south. After a few fights, you'll come across a Dwarven Treasury and, soon after, an Archer's Tower dwelling. Right near it, guarded by some Marksmen, is an artifact that lets you walk across water. At this point, head back home for reinfocements (you won't need the boat any longer). Buy everything you can afford, but especially Liches and Vampire Lords. Cross the river to reach the mountain pass west of your town. Keep going west past the Learning Stone then go straight north to claim another Necromancy artifact, the Dead Man's Boots (make sure you equip those permanently or at least before every battle). Here you have two choices, depending on what order you chose to do scenarios 2 and 3: the Green Border Guard is to the west, in the corner of the map, and the Blue Border Guard is to the south-west. The creatures behind the blue one will join you, but since they are all unupgraded versions, you may have to let them go, unless yours are unupgraded as well. Once you claim the artifact behind the appropriate Border Guard, you've done everything that needs to be done here except collect 2500 skeletons. You're free to go wherever you wish and do whatever you want in accomplishing that task. Remember, you don't have to actually kill the amount of creatures it takes to ressurect 2500 skeletons; the ones you purchase at your town or collect from the dwellings also count. Plus, you don't need to have them all on one hero.
